LAMBVILLE


Reading: We will be finishing up our Animal Unit.  We will continue discussing adjectives, verbs, long and short vowel sounds, and consonant blends (sh, th, ch).
               The class will be reading "The Hermit Crab" and we will be sure to journal about these amazing creatures. 

Math: We will be working with pennies and nickles to create number stories both addition and subtraction.
         NOTE: Addition and subtraction facts are very important math basics that can be practiced at home!
         The students will complete an end of the unit assessment on Thursday that you will get back during our parent teacher conferences.

Writing/Spelling/HWT: Spelling words will be on the blog tomorrow morning.  The students are doing a great job each week.  Keep up the good work!
                                    This week the Lambville will be completing an expository writing piece on SPIDERS!  The class did a wonderful job researching facts about these amazing creepy crawlers!
                                     HWT- We will be working on V and W this week. 

Journal: MONDAY-  What do you want to be for Halloween?
             TUESDAY-If you were a hermit crab, what would your shell look like?  
             WEDNESDAY- What do you think Mrs. lamb will be for Halloween?
             THURSDAY- What do you like to do with your pumpkin?
              FRIDAY- How did you get to school today?

Social Studies/Science: We will be starting our first unit of Science.  MATTER! And there is nothing the MATTER with that!

HOMEWORK:

-Practice spelling words.
-Practice math facts 1-9 and counting by 2's to 40.
-LOGS: The first grade team is sending them home, but they DO NOT have a due date.  Complete them at your own pace. 
-Book Report: I would like for these to come back weekly, but it is optional.  We never want you or your child to feel overwhelmed by homework.
-Math Links 2.11,2.12 and 2.13.
